ഒരു ക്രിയയോട് (verb), ഒരു preposition/adverb ചേർന്നാൽ പുതിയൊരു അർഥം ഉണ്ടാകുന്നു. ഇതാണ് phrasal verb. ഉദാഹരണം: give up (ഉപേ ക്ഷിക്കുക) look after (പരിപാലിക്കുക). സാധാരണ മായി ഇതിന്റെ ഘടന verb + preposition/adverb (ഉദാ: put in, give away) അല്ലെങ്കിൽ verb + two particles (ഉദാ: look forward to) ആയിരിക്കും.

Put forward - Submit (സമർപ്പിക്കുക) We have put forward a project to the finance committee
Give away - distribute (വിതരണം ചെയ്യുക) The minister gave away certificates to the winners.
Give in - yield / surrender (വഴങ്ങുക/കീഴടങ്ങുക) She gave in to his request finally.
Give up - abandon (ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുക) He gave up smoking.

Come down with - to get an illness (രോഗം പിടി പെടുക) She came down with a fever yesterday.
Go around - spread among people (പടരുക)
A cold virus is going around at school.
Wear off - gradually disappear (അല്പാല്പമായി കുറ ഞ്ഞുപോകുക) The pain wore off after some rest.
Pass away - die (often used politely) (മരിക്കുക) Many patients passed away during the epidemic.
Pull through - survive a serious illness (അതിജീ വിക്കുക) Many patients pulled through after a long battle with COVID-19.
